RARE PL 1872 GOLD DOLLAR GRADED PCGS/CAC MS66; THE COINFACTS PLATE COIN
Gem 1872 gold dollars are as rare as the low mintage of 3,500 business strikes for this date would suggest. There are likely a half dozen or so in MS67/67+, and the finest known is a PCGS MS68 that sold for $35,250 in January 2015.
